Winsley 2nds are Champions 2019

25 Aug 2019

Winsley 2nds beat Burbage 3rds by 6 wickets chasing 198 on an artificial pitch. A team effort as usual with Ben Edwards bowling well at the end of the Burbage innings.

Mike Sherring and Jon Keepen set the tempo with the Winsley innings.  Mike retired hurt after being hit on the forearm by a high full toss from some particularly wayward bowling from their left arm opening bowler.

Jon and Josh Norgrove Gray continued the tempo but were out in quick succession  but this left the chase to Ed Walker who violently crashed the ball round the ground, in the process sending a Burbage player off to hospital with a nasty hand injury.  He tried to win the game with a big hit, he connected well but it hit the tree in the high branches for 1 run.
