Winsley saw a dreadful start to their Bristol and North Somerset clash against
Hambrook on saturday losing two wickets, including terrence duffin, in the first over.
After Duffin was bowled from the 5th ball of the match and Neil Harris followed for a
2nd ball duck it was always looking like an up hill struggle for Winsley.

Holton managed a steady 30 from 55 balls to try to rebuild the innings but wickets
continued to fall at the other end. First Elet went chasing quick runs and then
Robbie Cross fell immediately after getting the only misbehaving ball of the day.
Ex skipper John Spencer then set about repairing the damage with Richard Fudge until
Spencer was out attempting a hit over the top. Andrew Cross then added 28 from 26
balls until both Fudge and Cross fell in the last few overs leaving Ian Alsop to
some clean striking to get Winsley to 155.
In reply the Hambrook openers looked in little difficulty as they scored freely off
the usually metronomic Spencer and the fiery Simon Orchard. Ellet shared the bowling
around in an attempt to get wickets but only Spencer and Robbie Cross managed to
pick up one wicket each.
Hambrook have Tom Harper to thank for his faster than a run a ball 96 not out ensured
that the victory was never in doubt.
Winsley now have a difficult trip to Hampset next week in search of a first league win.
